New liquid medication for HYPERTHYROID cats!

For those of you with HYPERTHYROID cats, there's finally a liquid alternative to those little Smartie-like tablets. It is a honey- flavoured solution & the syringe is marked in milligrams of active ingredient to ensure accurate (and hence safer) dosing. Depending on your cat's individual requirement we can now change doses incrementally rather than the big jump up to the next size tablet or giving two different-sized tablets. This could help us reduce one of the side effects of treating hyperthyroid cats - the potential to unmask an underlying or borderline concurrent kidney problem.
It comes in two bottle sizes: 30ml (~1 month supply) & 100ml (over 3 months supply) and it keeps for six months once opened. This is an exciting new option for those cats (& owners) that hate tablet dosing!

Find out more about Hyperthyroidism on the ISFM website.
